This gooseneck hitch adapter gives you an extra 5" of offset between the ball and your trailer. That extra space can make the difference when turning tight corners or backing into a spot without worrying about contact between the trailer and cab. The 2-5/16" ball sits 5" back from the center point, letting you make sharper turns and tow comfortably even in close quarters.
Built to handle real work, this hitch is rated for 25,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 6,000 lbs vertical load limit. Once locked into place, it feels solid and stable—no movement or looseness under heavy loads. It’s a setup that inspires confidence when hauling big fifth wheels, livestock trailers, or equipment on long runs.
The simple, above-bed design installs directly into the OEM puck system in seconds. You can swap it in or out fast without tools or complicated adjustments. When the trailer’s unhooked, the compact layout keeps your truck bed open for other gear so you don’t lose usable space between hauls.
Powder-coated steel stands up to weather and road grime, resisting corrosion through heavy use. With its straightforward design and heavy-duty build, this hitch stays dependable for the long haul mile after mile.

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from etrailer, and today I'm at NATM and this convention brings a lot of the vendors that we have at etrailer to a convention where we have their booths and their products set up. I had a chance to catch up with quite a few of them, so let's take a look at their products a little bit up close and ask some of the questions to those vendors about their products. I'm here with Jason from Gen-Y and today we're talking about goosenecks. Now something with, you know, gooseneck trailers and towing any short bed trucks, you run the risk of potentially damaging cab corners, making sharp turns, or you just won't be able to make those sharp turns, but there's ways to fix that pretty easily. And that's what we have here. Yes, the GoosePuck.
And so it's a five inch offset ball. I really want to just show you guys what that looks like. So this is the stem that fits into your existing where your ball was, right And so pretend that that's the hole, what I'm gonna put it into, that's the hole in the bed of your truck. And now I just move from my existing hole, I move the ball back five inches. And so that's moving the pivot point.
That's how you're going to gain turning radius. We have these models available for the big three, GM, Ford, and Dodge. At the end of the day, it is a absolute game changer when you're towing camper, even your gooseneck trailers, just especially with the short bed trucks, you know, the long beds, you can use it for those as well. But the big thing is for short bed trucks, you know, obviously you're really tight quarters with those trucks. And so it's been a really good and solid product for Gen-Y and I think etrailer has seen some good traction on these things as well.
Yeah, absolutely. And again, nothing against your fifth wheels, but talking about the fifth wheel to gooseneck conversion, you know, that's something that, yes, you can get a fifth wheel that slides. But that also means you're gonna have to get out, move that, and then make the turn. Having this offset means you've eliminated the problem. Exactly.
Yep. So with our fifth to goose pin box that we just talked about, it marries up really, really good with this. So obviously you get the gooseneck ball and then you just, you move your pivot point back and gain, you know, turning radius. We did a test and it was between 60 and 70 on the camper that we tested, and by the time we were done with the GoosePuck it was between 80 and 90 degrees of turning radius. Brad I mean, and that's massive. I mean, especially campsites are never as open as you want them to be. There's always that tree that's in the way. You betcha. Yeah. So if you can make those turns without having to get outta your truck and adjust things, that's, you know, you want it to be as easy as possible and you guys have definitely solved that problem. I do wanna point out, when you receive these, there's three, I think maybe we're making some minor changes to this in the future, but nevertheless, very minor assembly required. These are loose when you get 'em, but this wing is separate. But also the nice thing is if for any reason that you would have to have it serviced for, you know, whatever, if there's any damage to it, you don't have to, you know, ship the whole thing back. It can, this piece can ship separately, this can ship separately. It's all for the consumer. We wanna make sure the consumer has a great experience and minimal assembly is required. The safety chains, we're working on a model that has the safety chains incorporated, at the moment we don't have them incorporated into the GoosePuck, however, we do have safety chains that we manufacture in house as well. So these are just drop in and when you open it, you set it down and when you lock it, they lock into place. And then you've got this piece here that just makes it lock together. So huge thanks to Jason from Gen-Y for taking the time to break down the offset gooseneck ball. Really a great option if you have a short bed truck, you know, this is something that you should consider, especially if you're going from a fifth to goose. But really just having that turning radius, it's, I mean, that's gonna make your towing experience that much better. No, I appreciate again, you guys taking the time to do a video on this hot piece. This is a really, really good addition to our lineup and it's not let us down. In fact, it's exceeded our expectation to be honest. So we we inchesre just very happy with you guys doing the video on it.

Took a bit to get it with no fault of etrailer they were very up front telling me it wax coming in at a certain time and when it did come in I got an Email saying so and that it was on its way, I can't thank Chelsea and the whole staff for great customer service, sorry I don't remember all your names.
Thank You
As far as the GenY extended ball it is well made very simple to put together, very straight forward
Received the hitch quickly. Was disappointed that there was no documentation in the box. It required assembly which was not hard to figure out but would have liked to know if I was supposed to torque the bolts to certain specs. The weld around the ball did have one small spec of rust on it right out of the box, I don't think it will affect its performance but was disappointed to see it rusting already. None of this made me want to return the hitch. Looking forward to trying it out soon. I have a short bed 2023 Superduty and looking forward to having that extra few inches between the back of the truck and my 5th wheel.
etrailer has been very helpful.
I will check with them first for any towing needs.
The quality of this product is great and I'm sure it is going to be the perfect setup for my new fifth wheel and Gooseneck Pin Box.
Perfect fit for my OEM puck system on my 2024 Ford F350.
Perfect fit. Had the turnover ball on last pickup, with a 4 inch extension. was a little concerned about the puck system fit.
Excellent!! Great customer service and very fast shipping. Product fit perfectly.
Easy to Install and use. Easy to remove when needed.
This hitch has given me the offset needed. It is easy to install and remove
Awesome system to pull our 5th Wheel Camper. Easy installation and smooth pulling with our Gen-Y hitch.

fantastic, great quality, It will definitely last as long as the camper and probably on to the next one

Perfect fit and easy to use. Very well built I have no doubt that it will last a long time.
Fits perfectly and adds enough clearance so that the trailer doesn’t hit the cab
Essay to install and take out. like the safety clip. The unit doesn't move around during hauls. Bin using it for over 6 months and it give the right space I needed to make the hard turns
Nice fit and finish. Gave me the room I needed between my truck and fifth wheel camper(30' Fifth wheel & 2019 F350 crew cab). I installed a Reese Goose Ball hitch and wanted more clearance; it was easy to put together and install. I also use it to pull my gooseneck trailer and 580 Case backhoe. No issues so far.
Easy installation and did a quick hook up to the camper using the convert a ball drove it around the block and everything worked great
Haven’t pulled with it yet, but it’s a little tricky to get the safety chain bars and hooks aligned so that you can easily remove and install, when I tighten the two bolts the alignment changes causing a bind, in order to remove I have to loosen the bars.
Pulled my 34ft 5th wheel from Texas to Montana and back with no issues.

Sounds like a heck of a trip, Richard! Glad it worked well for you! : ) What kind of 5th wheel are you towing? And do you know which king pin you have on it?
excellent product. fit and finish is as expected. much easier to install than the auto slide fifth wheel hitch it replaced. looking forward to first trip.
Exactly as described. Easy assembly and installation. Make sure you have the correct range torque wrench for the bolts when you assemble it.
This is the second one I have received. Check with Alexandria H and Emily for the photos of the issue. They are shipping the 3rd unit this morning. I am hopeful that the 3rd time is the charm. I will post a better review if this 3 hitch is correct.
My new 5th wheel RV is my first experience with a goose ball arrangement, and I’ll never go back! The Gen-Y experience is absolutely amazing!
I don't really need the offset; I had the margins required for turning 90 degrees in a Ford 6’10” bed, but this will provide some extra breathing room for working around a lowered tailgate.
Gen-Y builds nothing cheap or chintzy! This beast is heavy! I didn’t have any reservations before hand, seeing how the hitch is built, and this item only reinforces my appreciation for some well-built, well thought out equipment.
IMHO, the actual star count would be 4.7, due to:
1. No instructions - this was limited to an exploded parts diagram, and a QR code that didn’t provide much in the way of assembly assistance. I had to Google or YouTube to get some pointers on torque and process. Granted, it is only 7 bolts, washers and lock nuts (really appreciate that last item!). Mention should be made about finger tight assembly, aligning the 3 puck holes, and only tighten bolts after insertion of all 3
2. The main ball mount is tight! I mean get out the heavy-duty grease to keep it from binding while inserting it. Having to align 3 different holes complicates things with this exact fitment. However, given the weight, it does keep you from mashing fingers if it slips in too quickly.
3. A very minor point - the ball mount might add 1” to your clearance height.
None of these are worth a full star ding.
On the plus side - and there are many:
1. It is a beefy setup. I’d say overkill, but I appreciate the design to safety and security over sloppy, poor execution, so let’s say “fail safe”.
2. The included chain attachment points are ingenious! The two-part, 90 degree swivel-and-lock puck attachment is sweet!
3. Security ring pins are quick and effective.
4. This is a HUGE improvement over the 1st generation, which had the solid “wing” design. The assembly process, with slots instead of round holes allows for any variation in measurement and alignment of the puck system.
5. Worth every penny!

This is awesome feedback, especially for your first go with a goose ball setup. Sounds like you went all in with the Gen-Y, and I love hearing how much of a difference it made right away. That “I’ll never go back” says it all. And yeah… those things are no joke when you first pick them up. You can tell pretty quick it’s built to be overkill in the best way. That Ford bed setup with the extra clearance for the tailgate is a nice bonus too. Sounds like you’ve got a really dialed-in towing setup now. What kind of 5th wheel did you end up pairing it with?

One year out and about 10,000 miles towing. Best decision we made after buying a fifth wheel with a goose box hitch. No worries off breaking the back window of our short bed F350. Highly recommend.

I won’t pull my camper with anything else. Very well built and still like brand new.

Without a doubt this has been the best setup for my usage. It is a very simple install and the best part is it gives me the 5” set back I need when boondocking and the setup requires a tight turn. East to remove so I have full usage of my bed
